I got these small boxes awhile ago. I made the order from Estonian motoshop Motokaup. The finnish reseller of SW Motech also has internetshop but this sucks! (R.M. Heino you can do better!!!) First item:
I never had sidestand extend before, but now I got one. I hope it will help to keep my bike up! Second item:
This is the ring that you must have if you want to use Bags Connection tank bags. I have one. I also had the ring in my previous bike but it wasn’t the original -it was a little bit modified by me. Bags Connection bags are made by SW Motech.
Mostly they’re selling too short chains!! If anyone of you is thinking about buying new chains? And looking anything but the originals. Here’s a warning!
It seems that there is wrong information about the length of the XR’s chains! Quite many marketplace is selling 118-links chains and the XR has 128-links!! I was very lucky to find D.I.D. 525 chains that has 128 links but they are maybe too weak (X-ring).
As far as I know there’s not too many aftermarket chains that are long- and strong enough -I would prefer XW-rings not the X-ring.
Finally I desided to take my FIRST bike out! And what a weekend it was! Almost 700 kilometers (>500km on sunday) with my first bike BMW S1000XR!
It’s not difficult to guess what was my first first direction? Yes, to Inkoo and Fagervik! That road simply makes you smile everytime you ride it!
The Café wasn’t open but I didn’t mind. I only stopped to take this photo and then I continued to enjoy my first “real” motorcycle ride (of 2016)!
On sunday we had a groupride in eastern Uusimaa. There was 11 bikes in the start.
This picture is from the first break in Pukkila.
And this is from the last break in Kulloo. The route was just fantastic!! You can hardly find any better roads this close to Helsinki (East side). Only in the north side of Pukkila we visited shortly Päijät-Häme province, otherwise we stayed in Uusimaa province. Here is the route.
This amazing piece of machinery is now aviable…. ok not in the stores yet but the prize is known for all and it’s 24701 euros (in Finland). That makes it pretty much the same than BMW S1000XR and Ducati Multistrada… and these are the main competitors too!
The finnish introduction here (language is still english!)
It’s very aggressive lookig bike and I’m wondering if 1290 Sper Duke is called “The Beast” then what will this be???
This is going to be introduced in one week! EICMA starts at 19th of november. It’s a mean machine! it’s supposed to have same powerful specs than SD 1290 but it has frames and panniers. There’s should be cruise control also.
What about how it looks? Well I think KTM is still going further away from being “ordinary”! This looks aggressive, killer, mean machine and I’m not sure if I like it or hate it!?
Actually it was already in june when I tested this. But I was so much waiting for my new bike (BMW S1000XR) to arrive that I just couldn’t make a review of this. Now I can.
The size of this bike is HUGE! I mean it is really big, it’s wide and it’s tall but luckily it’s not too heavy! When you take the seat you’ll notice that it’s actually quite easy to handle and the sound from the engine is not loud.Riding the bike is also very easy! For the first time for me (in KTM) the throttle is actually very much possible to operate. It doesn’t give that On-Off feeling! But still if you just twist the throttle it gives you acceleration that makes your wrists stretch a lot!
Off-Road riding is pretty much the same than in GS. The size of the bike is not a good thing in the middle of the forest.
Because of the size it feels closer to GS than XR (My opinion). And it was the first KTM that I actually liked!
