Finally I desided to take my FIRST bike out! And what a weekend it was! Almost 700 kilometers (>500km on sunday) with my first bike BMW S1000XR!
It’s not difficult to guess what was my first first direction? Yes, to Inkoo and Fagervik! That road simply makes you smile everytime you ride it!
The Café wasn’t open but I didn’t mind. I only stopped to take this photo and then I continued to enjoy my first “real” motorcycle ride (of 2016)!
On sunday we had a groupride in eastern Uusimaa. There was 11 bikes in the start.
This picture is from the first break in Pukkila.
And this is from the last break in Kulloo. The route was just fantastic!! You can hardly find any better roads this close to Helsinki (East side). Only in the north side of Pukkila we visited shortly Päijät-Häme province, otherwise we stayed in Uusimaa province. Here is the route.

I live in the city (municipality) called Kirkkonummi. Here are some possible gravel roads to ride with motorcycle (if you like that stuff!?) These are the ones with no dead-end, so you can actually continue riding without turning back. This is map part 1:

Some more roads actually goes out of the Kirkkonummi. But these few roads gives a somekind of possibility to practice riding in the gravelroad.
KTM 690 Enduro is 1 cylinder engine with quite nice power, easy to ride in almost everywhere! It has some vibration in the handlebar but it doesn’t bother me -So I desided to try my Sony 4k-camera in it.
But oh no… It just doesn’t work! The vibration makes the camera shake, rattle and roll (it makes the resonance depending the rpm of the engine), and in some parts it’s very disturbing watch the video! But then again in some parts of the video the picture is quite ok!

Tuesday March 15 was the day when I went to garage and took my Honda out (BMW is still waiting for the 1st ride).
I took a short ride to Lauttasaari in Helsinki to check one motocaching.net -cache someone had made during the winter. The place is actually not legal to ride with the motorcycle but it was in the middle of the day so there were not too many people around so I took the risk and rode my bike up to the small hill with this cannon.
There’s also a viewing platform very near from where you can see the south-western parts of Helsinki.
Wednesday 16th of March was much warmer so I even got 1 friend with me and we rode to Vuosaari to check 1 breakwater where you can also ride. Ocean is already without ice and there were few swans flying around beautifully!
Here’s my Honda VFR1200X Crosstourer with my friends KTM 990SMT at the Ruusuniemi breakwater in Vuosaari. This is also a cache at motocaching.net!
Then on friday morning it was below zero and some snow was in the ground (and on my Honda too!)
Now it seems that we’ll have to wait many days until we can ride again!
…but I can’t find that corner!!
I went to my garage anyway to install new levers. They are beautiful red!
And then I took the bike out and started it first time in 2016 like this:
I just got my new bike: BMW S1000XR
and I took a 50km’s ride and it made me SMILE! Nothing but SMILE!
It’s beautiful, it rides so smoothly but if you want to… You can really make it attack like Dragon…

Yamahan uutuus kaudelle 2015 perustuu viime vuonna julkaistuun MT-09 malliin, mutta käytännössä yhteistä on vain moottori ja vanteet. Loput on kokonaan uutta!
Vaikka hinta onkin 5k€ korkeampi kuin perusmallissa on kyseessä silti järjettömän halpa pyörä! Alle 14000 eurolla voi kaupasta hakea seikkailuhenkisen matkapyörän mistä löytyy ABS-jarrut, Luistonesto ja 3 erilaista ajomoodia. 850 kuutioisesta 3-sylinterisestä moottorista löytyy vääntöä aivan alakierroksilta asti ja tehoja jopa 115hv!
Esimerkiksi tehottomampi BMW F800GS on 2000 euroa kalliimpi ja tuhat kuutioiset seikkailupyörät selvästi kalliimpia!
Joku kysyy “Miksi se on niin halpa??” Ja kysymys on aivan oikeutettu ja ymmärrettävä. Yamaha on selvästi panostanut näihin uusiin 3-sylinterisiin malleihin ja oikeanlaisella suunnittelulla hinta on saatu pysymään erittäin maltillisena!
Pyörästä on 3 eri värivaihtoehtoa: valkoinen, tumman harmaa ja punainen. Omaan silmään valkoinen näyttää parhaalta lähinnä noiden värjättyjen vanteiden takia!
Ja koska olen myynyt edellisen pyöräni (BMW S1000R) niin saattaa hyvinkin olla että tämä on seuraava…
