  • Took a test ride of this nice bike last september. The first feeling was only about how great bike it was!! I had my wife sitting behind me and even without adjustments to the suspension felt great!

After 20-30 kilometers I was already thinking that this bike feels so great that I should change my XR to this… But then we took the narrow, bumpy and curvy road (Immersby road) and I started to think something else

BMW XR is definitely better to gain speed after corners – The suspension is much better for 2 passangers – And XR simply makes you smile in every different situation… Tiger (only) makes you feel comfortable. Tiger is very nice bike! Maybe I should have tried the adventure version (800 XCA) and I would have found more positive things compare to BMW S1000XR.

But this road-version of the Triumph 800 Tiger is very good bike with very reasonable price and I can totally recommend it!

Tiger XRT is also very nice looking bike!
  • Actually it was already in june when I tested this. But I was so much waiting for my new bike (BMW S1000XR) to arrive that I just couldn’t make a review of this. Now I can.
The size of this bike is HUGE! I mean it is really big, it’s wide and it’s tall but luckily it’s not too heavy! When you take the seat you’ll notice that it’s actually quite easy to handle and the sound from the engine is not loud.Riding the bike is also very easy! For the first time for me (in KTM) the throttle is actually very much possible to operate. It doesn’t give that On-Off feeling! But still if you just twist the throttle it gives you acceleration that makes your wrists stretch a lot!
Off-Road riding is pretty much the same than in GS. The size of the bike is not a good thing in the middle of the forest.
Because of the size it feels closer to GS than XR (My opinion). And it was the first KTM that I actually liked!

  • It was a kind of carnival in Vantaa today! Motorcycle store Allright had their “Hemmopäivät” again and there were some tents with nice special prices, lots of good stuff for-sale with very low prices… and ofcourse parking area full of bikes to take a test ride. Kawasaki, Triumph and BMW (With 1 Aprilia) and I chose mainly BMW bikes to have a quick test.

BMW K1600GT is heavy. It’s still very easy to ride if you just get it on the roll… And becouse it’s heavy it doesn’t feel too powerful either. This was the biggest disappointment!

Triumph Tiger 800XcX is very light, nice and easy to ride, nice torque and powerline in the engine. I would rather choose this than 800GS!

BMW S1000RR is smooth, easy and so damn light! Until the RPM meter reaches 8000… after that it’s all about crazyness and speed!! If I would be 15 years younger I would have this for sure!! And I would probably already be dead…

BMW R1200RS was the best ride of today. Extremely good riding position, powerful engine, so much electronics to make the ride easier and so many ways to use the bike! This would be the best bike for me from these 4…

  • I went to the motorcycle store to take a test ride on MT-09 Tracer. But of course no bike to ride…
    So I took this:
    DSC_0001
Yamaha MT-07 Cage (edition) and this actually looks very cool!
So I sat down to the seat and noticed my knees were almost in my chin! Ok there’s not a lot of space here…
Then I turned the engine on and started to smile a little bit. It sounded so nice (for a small bike!).
Took a short test ride and noticed how very easy it was to handle with the throttle quite sensitive but it was easy to learn how much you can twist it without bike attacking like crazy.
And actually when the bike is so light (not more than 170kg’s) and it has this new 2-cylinder engine it was so much fun to ride!
It really felt like a sport bike and like a big bike at the same time! Just because it gives so much power even from the lower rpm’s.
And then if you look at the price of the bike you finally realize how much there is to do for the other brands to compete this…
Amazing cheap, amazing power and very easy to ride…. Big recommendation from me!
