I’m calling this as “my baby” because it goes so close to the place where I live.
But the section 5 was updated quite many times since it was published with it’s full length.
It has “south part” from Siuntio to Turku and it has “north part” from Mynämäki to Räyskälä.
Now it was time to make the north part at least little bit better!
The section has mainly quite big gravel roads all the way from Mynämäki to Somero. Now I decided to check is there better and smaller roads between Heikin Laavu Lean-To shelter and Somero. This is only about 30km’s.
The new part of section 5 starts at 10:10
BMW Moottoripyöräkerhon alueiden tapaaminen
This post in Finnish only/ Eli kirjoitan tämän postauksen Suomeksi

Ajoin menomatkalla Jokioisten kautta.

It all started in April I think? The first time I went swimmimg (but I don’t have a video of that one).
The first time on the sea was 13th of June and that is in the video! (The dip is at 18:14)
Then I have on the video when I’m swimming in Sweden (the dip is at 10:09)
Then going to Lappohja beach (the dip is at 12:03)
Then going swimmimng to the lake that I didn’t go before (I didn’t take the video when I was swimming but the beach and the lake are at 11:38)
Then going to Hanko with bicycle, that was cool! (The swimming is at 02:54 & 12:58)
And then to the Iso-Simi -lake (I didn’t make a video of the swimming but the lake is at 06:55)
For this last video I even bought a thermometer for measuring the water temperature (4€!) because in the news they said that the water on lakes has gone over +25°! And yes, even this very deep lake with very clear water was 25-26°. This kind of temperatures are extremely rare here in Finland!
And yesterday it was also Jaakko’s day. According to popular belief, Jaakko throws a cold stone into the lake (and sea) and the water begins to cool down.
360° camera with excellent picture and video quality!
Finally bought this camera and I’ve been testing it few times. The first ride with motorcycle I did about week ago and the video is in Youtube:
I’m very happy that this camera has now the possibility to record 2 audio channels at the same time (same as AcePro 2). But there’s a prolem if I have them both with me and if they are both connected to my helmet phone! But that problem is sorted if I just unconnect the other one (probably this X5 will not be connected).
On the next day we made a longer ride in Kiikala area! Now I had both of my cameras with me.
First time making a longer ride with a small group of bikes (in 2025).
All the bikes in this ride are totally different!
1. BMW G650XChallenge (my bike)
2. CF Moto 450 MT
3. Suzuki V-Strom 800DE
4. Husqvarna FE501
And we had a blast!
I’ve been bicycling quite a long time with my Montana MTB… I would say it was almost 30 years! Now I started to feel that I want a new one and from the small local shop I found this Madison Grizzly 29.

I’ve now done some bicycling with it 4 times and I’m very happy with it!
Here’s a video of my first ride:
And my 4th time I took already the train towards Hanko… but I didn’t go to the final station!
I jumped off the train in Lappohja (Lappvik) and first I wanted to ride to the beach and then continue to Harparskog line area. There is a lot of forest roads that are blocked with the gate so I can’t go riding there with my motorcycle. Bicycle is a perfect choice!
Here is the route:

This bicycle ride was so much fun!! I’m thinking to do something very similar also this weekend!
For this bike it’s a good idea to buy also the winter tires (I don’t need them now) and maybe in the future there’s going to be a lot more of bicycling content in this blog?!
The climate is getting warmer faster here in the Nordic countries than in other parts of the world!
Finland should prepare for more heavy rainfall and even flooding as climate change takes effect.
Finnish broadcasting company made a story about this, read here!

YouTubers from UK decided to ride TET Finland! They have 30k followers in their channel.
I started to follow them in the spring when Martha was about to get her licence for the big bikes. Then it was maybe in April when my Messenger had some questions from Mitch and about TET Finland. And It was actually quite close that we didn’t meet each other around Midsummer when I was riding in the north myself! I think it was Sunday when they were doing the Alta old post road and for me and my friends it was tuesday!
This is actually the first time when someone is doing a full series (10 episodes) of YouTube videos about TransEuroTrail Finland and I think the movies are very good!! First episode here:
They have also very nice instagram channel: Jammy Gits
After a great night sleep in Inari Uruniemi camping (30€ only!) I was more than ready to start exploring new possible section for TransEuroTrail Finland.

First I had to ride the section 7 until it’s starting point which was still more than 100km away behind Pokka village. And it was paved road all the way there.

Actually before the “starting point” of section 7 I turned away from the paved road and all the fun started!
I soon joined with section 1 and was riding 27km together with the “main section”! And that was maybe the best road/ track that I had on this day!
Then I had route ahead of me that I knew nothing about. I planned the route to make it a section of it’s own but at some point I realised that it could be a continuation of an already existing section 7!
So all this new route would be just a new beginning part of that section. And after the update the section 7 is now 770km long!
So I was riding all the way down to Rovaniemi and it was almost 500km of riding!
Here’s the video of that day:
The route for the day 5 looks like this:
