I just got my new bike: BMW S1000XR
and I took a 50km’s ride and it made me SMILE! Nothing but SMILE!
It’s beautiful, it rides so smoothly but if you want to… You can really make it attack like Dragon…
Yes I named this one “Dragon”

It was a kind of carnival in Vantaa today! Motorcycle store Allright had their “Hemmopäivät” again and there were some tents with nice special prices, lots of good stuff for-sale with very low prices… and ofcourse parking area full of bikes to take a test ride. Kawasaki, Triumph and BMW (With 1 Aprilia) and I chose mainly BMW bikes to have a quick test.

BMW K1600GT is heavy. It’s still very easy to ride if you just get it on the roll… And becouse it’s heavy it doesn’t feel too powerful either. This was the biggest disappointment!

Triumph Tiger 800XcX is very light, nice and easy to ride, nice torque and powerline in the engine. I would rather choose this than 800GS!

BMW S1000RR is smooth, easy and so damn light! Until the RPM meter reaches 8000… after that it’s all about crazyness and speed!! If I would be 15 years younger I would have this for sure!! And I would probably already be dead…

BMW R1200RS was the best ride of today. Extremely good riding position, powerful engine, so much electronics to make the ride easier and so many ways to use the bike! This would be the best bike for me from these 4…
MotorCycleNews took the testride in Spain. They liked it…. Ahh “like” is not really a word to describe all that they’ve experienced!
“From the beginning of our test route near Barcelona there was immediately no doubt that the XR is both a proper, adventure-style machine *– it’s a tall, substantial bike with bars that brace your arms wide behind a meaty fairing complete with hand-adjustable, two-position screen – but it’s also one with the heart of a snarling beast.”
“Plenty of sportsbikes are set to be shamed by the XR, I guarantee.”
“On this experience, the XR isn’t just a bike for all reasons, I’m struggling to think of any reason why you wouldn’t want one. Prices, TBC, are set to start around £13K for the bog basic that no-one will want, the around 15 for the fully-loaded variants.”
This Bike should arrive (TO ME!) after 34 days of waiting!

Today was BMW motorcycle dealers Season 2015 start! Little bit unlucky that it’s so damn cold (-1 celsius) since it has been very nice weather more than a week before this. But I took my Xmoto and wanted to take a test ride with some of the new models…
I got R1200R which was brand new!

This was a good test ride after Dorsoduro a week ago. These bikes have pretty much the same kind of specs but when Aprilia was giving everything even from the lowest rpm the BMW did the same but little bit softer. This has the same performance but much better suspension! And ofcourse the different riding modes gives the BMW more possible ways to ride it (rainy weather, gravel roads, city-riding, highway and so on…)

With this bike you can really understand why you dont actually need so much horsepower to ride fast! In the curvy mountain roads this might be the best possible bike ever! This is a real gentlemans sport tourer! Unfortunately for me the bike is little bit too low, seat-hight is 79 cm’s.
This bike is for sale in Biketeam.
The weather forecast promised a real nice weather for today so I desided to leave home early. I’m very lucky that I bought myself a new motorcycle suit (Alpinestars Valparaiso) so that even there was some rain I didn’t get wet at all!
First I decided to check the breakwater in Vuosari. It would be such a nice place if only there’s some sunshine!

As you can see all the ice is already gone!
Then I rode to Gumbostrand -village in Sipoo. There is a very strange place where the national museum made some diggings because they actually believed some old guy (Name: Ior Bock) when he was telling that there is some kind of temple deep in the rock. Diggings were made in the 80’s and nowadays the hole is full of water. But it’s still a very strange of formation…

Now few hours after I came back home there’s finally some sunshine. But it’s too late because soon it’s going to be dark.
Tomorrow I’ll ride again!
There she is, in her last trip going to the next owner. Ans she’s in good hands there. Bye bye!
I’m going to see her quite often anyway… She will be in the same East-Europe trip with me next summer.
Here is the first picture the new owner put in Instagram: https://instagram.com/p/zsE0hFK-1C/
Bought this today (february 10th!) and took a short ride also (35km’s)
Very easy to ride, very light also (160kg’s)
This is my 8th bike that I’ve had… and I’m gonna ride this as long as the new XR arrives!

There are many different kind of internet pages where you can find nice roads for motorcycling. But to find also the nice locations, sights, attractions, restaurants and cafeterias suitable for motorcycling then it’s going to be difficult and you’ll have to browse many pages and domains! Until now!
https://www.motocaching.net/ is a domain where you can find them all!!! At the moment it’s only in Finnish but let’s hope it will be released also in English soon. Page started in april 2014 and now in october there are more than 200 caches to be found and more than 1500 caches that has been marked as “found” by different riders!

Idea is simple. It’s quite the same than geocaching but it’s transformed to fit for us motorcycle-riders. You can check new routes, sights or restaurants/ cafeterias from the map (or many other ways to find these caches). And if you find something interesting then you ride there, maybe you’ll have to solve a simple task or question so that you can mark this cache as “found” and then you ride to the next one.
There’s already some caches that are not in Finland and hopefully after the page is published in English there’s going to be many new riders from other countries too.
This is definetely much more fun than a normal “finding new places or routes from the map and then ride…” This is totally new way of riding!
(This motocaching was noticed already in august in Finnish motonews: http://www.motouutiset.fi/fi/moottoripyorat/matkalla/937/Motok%C3%A4tk%C3%B6ily-avartaa-moottoripy%C3%B6r%C3%A4ily%C3%A4-harrasteena.htm)
Kadulla on jo useaan otteeseen nähty vilauksia BMW:n uudesta pyörästä kaudelle 2015.
