This wasn’t that interesting day. Road was straight, not much to see (except the castle!) and one missed crossing and 30 km’s gravel road after that.
This was the route.
We stopped in the city called Cesis (in Latvia) and there is an amazing old castle.

And we also checked the castle in Sigulda:

I still think that Sigulda is a very special town. There’s so much to see and so many places to visit. Maybe the best city to spend few days in whole Baltic countries!
Harrastukset
Today I got my bike from 1000km service, so now I can ride it on the edge and make wheelies like crazy… (In my dreams!) but anyway the maximum-rpm is now possible and my bike is ready to the trip!
It starts on friday (day after tomorrow) 7.30 am with the boat from Helsinki to Tallinn.
And all the 10 bikes will (or should) be in Sigulda (Latvia) on sunday morning.

This update is only in finnish!

I just got my new bike: BMW S1000XR
and I took a 50km’s ride and it made me SMILE! Nothing but SMILE!
It’s beautiful, it rides so smoothly but if you want to… You can really make it attack like Dragon…
Yes I named this one “Dragon”
Took a quite long ride in only gravel (180km’s). I’m starting to really like it!

I wrote about this site before. But now it’s published also in english! I think it’s the best possible site to find new places and roads!! And it’s about us bikers to make it even better. Check it out now!!
(Even if you’re from anywhere else than Finland)
https://motocaching.net/
It says in the frontpage: “Using the free Motocaching service, motorists can share awesome destinations, spots, suggest the coolest curvy roads, and journey to the coziest of places to take a break!”

At the moment I’m the number 1 cachemaker… But I really would like to see someone else make lots of caches!
MotorCycleNews took the testride in Spain. They liked it…. Ahh “like” is not really a word to describe all that they’ve experienced!
“From the beginning of our test route near Barcelona there was immediately no doubt that the XR is both a proper, adventure-style machine *– it’s a tall, substantial bike with bars that brace your arms wide behind a meaty fairing complete with hand-adjustable, two-position screen – but it’s also one with the heart of a snarling beast.”
“Plenty of sportsbikes are set to be shamed by the XR, I guarantee.”
“On this experience, the XR isn’t just a bike for all reasons, I’m struggling to think of any reason why you wouldn’t want one. Prices, TBC, are set to start around £13K for the bog basic that no-one will want, the around 15 for the fully-loaded variants.”
This Bike should arrive (TO ME!) after 34 days of waiting!

My experience about low-riders is very limited! Or actually I don’t have it at all!
So now I desided to take a test ride with this mean-machine: Victory Gunner.
Test ride was short, and those gears are long! In second gear I was already reaching 80km/h!! And it felt so easy!
The sound from the exhaust made my heart pumping like crazy… and I really felt alive. This bike took the corners easily and it didn’t feel difficult at all to sit so low.

But then after the test ride I realized that already in the 4th corner the foot-pedal was hitting the ground (making sparkles I hope!) Oh my god I thought, I can’t ride this bike so fast as I wanted to… That’s a disappoinment! Then I took my Crosstourer and took the same corners with 20km/h more speed -and it felt good!

I finally understood it! Or actually it was my rear end who said the final word “I can’t take it anymore!” And also I got so nice offer from Bike World and I just couldn’t resist it. Now I’m riding Honda VFR1200X Crosstourer until the Beemer arrives. Or in worst case scenario -I can ride the summer-tour with this Honda (name: SikaSika = PigPig)
