Tomorrow I’ll go

This is a big deal for me! I’m almost crying here at home as I sit down for the last night before my trip.
The last time I was on a long mc-trip with my ex-wife was in summer 2019. Then we’ drove’re riding 3 weeks to Croatia and back. It was a very good trip and I definitely thought even then that I should go again! Now I can.
Last summer I was trying but didn’t make it. That trip had to last at least a few more days than it did.
And it ended due to technical problems with the bike.
And when I finally got that rear shock working properly last fall so that it could handle longer trips, I started thinking and planning a longer trip in the winter.
At first it was in my mind that if it would be north again… But then I started to think all these places and things that are close to Finland. And made them as a bucket list for myself. So it turned into the plan and tomorrow morning I’m leaving to make this plan to come true.
For the first time in 6 years, a long bike ride is coming (Baltic Edge Adventure)!
(Hopefully there will be no problems with the bike)

Since the TET App was taken down there has been a quite big need for TET route preview!
Now it’s finally possible! The TET “head office” was contacted by one rider and web developer who told he could build this kind of page. The application is 100% built in-house, collaboratively, and has been a great proof of concept for learning how can we harness the will to help from talented members of our community. We give you https://atlas.transeurotrail.org/
This page has these features:
– Collects general statistics about each country’s total length, and an always up to date total length of the TET as a whole.
– Displays all TET tracks on an easy to browse map.
– Shows waypoints (POI’s)
– Gives an overview of section numbers for each country.
– Provides information about names and lengths of sections.
– Points users to the main TET website country download pages.
– Has a link to email the linesman (report a problem on the track)

It feels like the days are exremely long and time is passing by very slowly for me.
But luckily I have few things I need to do for my bike before the midsummer festival and the monday after that weekend. Early morning on that day I will start my Adventure!
I will call it “Baltic Edge Adventure” and I even made my own introduction for the videos that I will publish from that trip. Here’s the intro video:

The first real adventure (or actually dual-sport) bike that I bought was KTM 690 Enduro R.
It was April 1st 2016…

I didn’t have a proper GPS device to do the navigation when OffRoading with this bike. I was trying to manage with TomTom… But that just didn’t work! So the first proper GPS was
Garmin GPSMap 64
Pros: Easy to use, works with AA batteries, No bugs
Cons: Difficult to use (no touch screen), Very small screen and not very bright

Then the second device was Garmin Montana 600
Pros: Very easy to use (Touchscreen)
Cons: Problems with charging, not very bright screen

Third was Samsung Active Tab 2 with Osmand App
Pros: Super big screen, Osmand is very good App
Cons: Problems with charging, didn’t like the Osmand maps

Then I got Garmin Montana 700
I also made a comparison video between Samsung Tab and Montana 700
Pros: Easy to use, big screen
Cons: Problems with charging, Not possible to adjust GPX track line thickness

And then I got Garmin Zumo XT2
I made a comparison video between Montana 700 and Zumo XT2
Pros: Very bright screen, Very big screen, Very versatile and diverse to use
Cons: Maybe too complex menu, Too big screen resolution (thin lines on the ToPo map are not easy to see!)
