Me and my wife have been married now half a year. It was time to take tour with motorcycle just the two of us. We had 5 days to do this trip and I chose western Finland.
Day 1 (May 9)
We started before the midday and I was very excited about finally going on a tour with my new bike “Optimus”:

After filling the tank it felt very nice and relaxing to ride the bike! The first leg was 120 kilometers and the the first stop was at Koski (english: Rapids) and there is also quite nice rapids there (Rapids at Rapids…)

Then we stopped at the grocery store in Oripää to buy some sausages. Next stop & break was at “Kekkosplassi”. It is very nice area with a big fireplaces to grill some food, we had sausages, sandwiches and also something to drink.

Then in Säkylä we checked Katismaa and Eenokki (harbour and beach) but these were just very short stops. Finally in Kauttua Ironworks area we stopped for awhile to examine the area. Like all old ironworks areas this has also many very nice old buildings and rapids with some small dams and old bridges.

This was the first time when we noticed that it was quite hot! Weather forecast had promised very nice and warm weather for us… and it was Summer coming already before the middle of May! It was too hot to walk with all riding gear.
The last leg was about 60 kilometers and we arrived to Nakkila where we were supposed to stay for the first night. After we took all the luggage away from the bike we still checked the dam and powerplant of Harjavalta and the medieval Church or Ulvila.

The route for the day 1 was like this:
And now I have finally installed the crash bars! They were not so easy as I thought… but I did it maybe in 3 hours. Now I have Givi Crash Bars.

Left side

Right side
I will still install some small things but now I can kind of say that the bike is ready to swallow the road!
Old cars, American cars and many other cars cathered yesterday in Helsinki.
Maybe more than 300 cars… and some motorcycles too (no pictures of them, sorry).
Here’s few of the best (I think):

Cadillac

Chevrolet

Volkswagen

Packard

Rolls Royce

Gaz Volga
But there was many amazing cars, check all my pictures here!
The new XR came without handguards so it was time for me to decide if I want the original BMW handguards or something else. The SW Motech has 3 different models and I decided to take the model called “Kobra”. I can install blinkers to these later if I want.

It looks like the leftside is a littlebit lower so I need to adjust it more…

Maybe I should paint these (or put wrapping) as red??
———
I also installed the Extension for side stand foot (by SW Motech)
And GPS holder for Tomtom (to install the GPS in the same place where the original is)

The power comes from the same wire than the original.
Only thing I still need to install is the crashbars!
I was here with my new BMW S1000XR. First we visited Aulanko (Pitty that the tower wasn’t open!) and I made a short Droneflight in the area. Here’s the photo of Aulanko tower:

Next we visited the castle in Hämeenlinna. I haven’t actually been there before and even now we didn’t go to the museum (insiden the castle). But got few very nice pictures!

And made a droneflight and took few very nice pictures and a video:

The video:
And here is one more picture:

Full size here.
Finally I got the bike!
Here it is standing in front of the door where I bought it (Biketeam Vantaa):

I simply love the color. It looks so cool and fast! The name of this bike is “Optimus“.
Now I can install all the things I bought for the bike -first It was time to put all bags and the screen from my old bike!

Here is the update I made about rack for top-box: Givi SRA5119
Here is update I made about luggage: SW Motech Trax

(Sorry for all international readers: This is only in Finnish!)
Moottoripyora.org nimistä keskustelufoorumia ylläpitävä motorg ry (jonka jäsen olen ollut 7 vuotta) lataa pöytään melko hienon jutun tänä vuonna! Sinulla on mahdollisuus moottoripyöräillä ilmaiseksi!
Muutaman ehdon kuitenkin motorg ry asettaa.
Motorg ry on hankkinut omistukseensa moottoripyörän jota saavat yhdityksen jäsenet lainata käyttöönsä ilmaiseksi! Pyörän nimi on MotOrgBike.

Pyörä on Kawasaki er-6n ja ns. “täysitehoinen”, eli sillä ajaminen vaatii A-ajokortin. Lisäksi motorg ry on asettenut muitakin ehtoja pyörän lainaamiseen:
– Laina-aika pääsääntöisesti 1-2 vrk.
– ensisijaisesti niille joilla ei ole omaa moottoripyörää
– ensisijaisesti niille jotka haluavat osallistua Ajotaito 2 -koulutukseen motorg-ratapäivänä
– Lisäksi toivotaan aktiivista sosiaalisen median käyttöä mp:n laina aikana, eli kuvia on otettava ja niitä on julkaistava halutuilla kanavilla!
Moottoripyora.org foorumille tullaan perustamaan keskusteluketju mihin kuka tahansa motorg-jäsen voi kirjoittaa hakemuksensa, eli vapaamuotoisen kirjoituksen tarpeestaan ko. moottoripyörän lainaamiseksi. Motorg hallitus käsittelee hakemukset oman harkintansa mukaan.
Motorg ry suhtautuu pyörän pieniin naarmuihin ja vaurioihin lainaajan kannalta anteeksiantavasti. Pakollisista korjauksista saattaa lainaajan lompakko hieman ohentua mutta maksimissaan täyskaskon omavastuun (500€) verran.
Pyörä pitää tietenkin palauttaa tankattuna samaan paikkaan mistä se on lainattu.

Alkukaudesta pyörän sijainti tulee olemaan Tampereella ja loppukaudesta ilmeisesti Helsingissä. Kauden jälkeen pyörä tullaan myymään huutokaupalla josta saaduilla rahoilla motorg ry maksaa 2000€:n yli menevät roposet hyväntekeväisyyteen.
Maksamalla siis motorg ry:n jäsenmaksun sinulla on mahdollisuus kokeilla ilmaiseksi moottoripyöräilyä! Sinun ei tarvitse ostaa omaa pyörää, eikä vuokrata. Sinun ei myöskään tarvitse maksaa kalliita vakuutusmaksuja tai huoltoja. Kannattaisko kokeilla?
UUTINEN
In january I sold my KTM. Now I Have new bike that I will use in gravel and dirtroads:

This Triumph Street Twin is going to be also a bike that my wife can (or will) use if she ever will have the licence. We tried quite many bikes and this was the best bike for her.
I thought I can use this same bike in my endurorides if I only will change the tyres.
Now I’m only hoping that the spring will come soon… Now we still have snow on the ground and temperature below zero…

By the way, motocaching.net is growing fast! We have now 3000 caches (rides) to be found. All over the world, all continents, 72 countries and more is coming all the time!
