  1. Hi, thank you for posting the route for the TET, I’ve just moved to Finland from Canada and am hoping to buy a bike this spring to make a start on the TET, and hopefully getting to NordKapp.

    • Nordkapp can be quite disappointing!! The last 160 km’s from Alta to Nordkapp is paved road (OK, there are some very nice sceneries!) and the weather in Nordkapp is mostlu very cloudy and rainy. If you have any experience of gravel/ offroad/ adventure riding I’m also recommending the south part of the Old Alta Post road which is not in TET Norway anymore If you can’t find that part of the road please contact me before you go…

      • Thanks, for the reply.
I’ve done a fair amount of adventure travel in the US and Canada, on dirt roads, as well as trips deep into the interior countryside and mountains. So I really appreciate any help in getting more off road and isolated form the local populace.
I really want to do the Finnish and Russian border part of the TET. I currently live 45 mins south of Kuopio in Sorsakoski, but will be moving to a house near Kaavi if the purchase go through.
My trips in North America where on a 2007 KTM 640 Adventure, amazing bike especially with the huge tank.
I’ll probably buy a Yamaha XTZ660 once I’ve moved, and then hopefully do a few trips in this beautiful country.

      • WTF = Welcome To Finland!
Unfortunately the Section 4 (TET Section that follows eastern border) is probably easiest of all 4 main sections. The route is all the time kind of normal gravel road -there are no tricky OffRoad parts. But from the other hand there is also one part where it is possible you will not see any peple or wehicles!! (From Lieksa to Suomussalmi it’s almost 300km without any villages, restaurants or gas stations!)
